Big turnout for Boris

There was a strong Coombe Vale local vote for Boris in the Mayoral election. There was virtually no local campaigning by Labour or the Lib Dems locally. In the London Assembly contest, one in every two voters at the local polling stations supported Tony Arbour, with only one in seven supporting the LibDem candidate. Maundy Todd, chair of Coombe Vale Conservatives, expressed her delight in the performance of the Party locally and her thanks for the many hours of canvassing put in by the Coombe Vale team.
There were no children in the Dickerage Adventure playgound when this photo was taken on polling day, nor any voters for long periods during the morning, but by the time polling had closed Coombe Vale residents had turned out in surprisingly high numbers.
Official figures for Coombe Vale (exlcuding postal votes) were:
- Conservative - 46%
- Labour - 24%
- LibDem - 15%
- Greens - 11%
- UKIP - 4%
